Woman charged with stabbing death of her mother near Newcastle

A woman has been charged with the stabbing murder of her mother in the NSW Hunter region. Police from the Lake Macquarie Local Area Command found the body of the 73-year-old at a home in Redhead, in the Lake Macquarie area, at about 6.30pm Saturday evening. The woman's 36-year-old daughter was immediately arrested at the Kalaroo Road home and taken to Charlestown Police Station.
